DILUTER DEMAND MASKS
PRESSURE DEMAND MASKS
NEW – OVERHAUL – REPAIR - RECERTIFICATION

THE AIRPORT SHOPPE at this time is recommending Repair or Overhaul for your diluter demand and pressure demand masks. While we are quoting competitive costs for new masks (and for upgrades approved by your aircraft manufacturer),  they are taking up to 120 days due to the current demands of our military.  The masks pictured above have a price new from $5000 - $8000, depending on the configuration.

  • A $550 FUNCTIONAL TEST IS REQUIRED for all masks, with the results determining repair or overhaul costs.  Turnaround time for completion of any work approved is typically ten days.  AOG costs can be quoted for completion in less time. **
  • ESTIMATED COSTS (including a report on the condition of your mask and expected work needed) will be provided in writing for your approval and signature prior to any work performed. [Only occasionally are parts required in excess of those estimated - you would be notified immediately for approval prior to work resuming.]
  • REPAIR COST is limited to parts and labor performed.
  • OVERHAUL COST is generally under $2000, depending on its condition.***

** If the required functional test determines your mask to be beyond economical repair (BER), i.e. it would be more economical to buy a new mask; it can be scrapped for a $200 Disposal Fee or returned with no work performed for a $250 Evaluation Fee. [A mask is deemed BER when an overhaul is determined to cost more than 65% of a new mask.]

***An overhaul will be required if your mask 1) is found to be leaking and/or 2) has been in service longer than three years.  Either condition indicates internal parts have begun to break down due to usage, weather or storage conditions.  An overhaul includes both repair and recertification; the entire unit is disassembled and gone through from head to toe.

359 Series
Crew Oxygen Breathing System

The AVOX Systems 359 Series Crew Oxygen Breathing System includes two different mask suspensions and two different types of mask-mounted regulators providing breathing protection to a cabin altitude of 40,000 feet. Any of the masks can be combined with either of the regulators to best satisfy the aircraft, FAA, and TSO requirements.

Vent-Valve System
In emergency situations where smoke or noxious fumes are present, the smoke goggle cavity could become contaminated and reduce the effectiveness of air crew personnel. The AVOX Systems Vent-Valve System, in conjunction with the regulator emergency pressure feature, is
designed to combat this problem. Operated by a manual push-pull control knob (A) located on the nosepiece of the mask, the vent-valve (B) diverts a small flow of oxygen from the mask into the goggle area, thereby raising the pressure and purging smoke or fumes to the ambient.
